What can Physiotherapy help to resolve?

Physiotherapy is helpful for people of all ages with a wide range of health conditions, including problems affecting the bones, joints and soft tissue – such as back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain and sports injuries. Physiotherapy can improve your physical activity while helping you to prevent further injuries.

What do we offer?

There are a number of different treatment and preventative approaches, depending on the specific problem one is experiencing.

At your first appointment, you will receive an assessment to determine what help you might need. We consider the body as a whole, rather than just focusing on the individual aspects of an injury or illness.

Four of the main approaches we may use are:

Movement and exercise

Movement, tailored exercise and physical activity advice – exercises may be recommended to improve your general health and mobility, and to strengthen specific parts of your body.

We recommend pilates to improve muscle control, strength and flexibility, we also provide strengthening and conditioning sessions to improve physical performance.

Manual therapy

Manual therapy can relieve pain and stiffness, improve blood circulation, help fluid drain more efficiently from parts of the body, improve the movement of different parts of the body, promote relaxation, and more.

Manual therapy can be used to treat specific problems, such as back pain, but may also be useful for a range of conditions that do not affect the bones, joints or muscles.

Acupuncture, Laser Therapy, Shockwave Therapy and more.

Education and advice

We in general will not advise patients to change their lifestyle or exercise routine, instead, we encourage them to maintain them during the treatment period. We give advice about ways to improve one’s wellbeing – for example, by taking regular exercise, posture improvement and specific advice that one can apply to everyday activities, which can also reduce further risk of pain or injury.
